Septic Tank Surveys and Sewage Treatment Plant Installation Tel. 01757 289555

Septic Tank Surveys and Reports

The new Environment Agency General Binding Rules insist that any existing or new septic tank must NOT discharge to any type of watercourse, including Ditches. If they do, then they MUST be changed to a Sewage Treatment Plant by 1st January 2020, or before this date if the house is sold..

As about 50% of ALL septic tanks in the UK currently discharge into watercourses, it is essential that you know where yours discharges, as the fines are large if you are found to be polluting with Septic Effluent.

It is also vital to know if you are buying a house with an existing septic tank, as the resulting works to enable you to comply will cost Thousands of pounds.

WRI FETAC qualified for Wastewater Site Surveys and Reports.

The UK does not have any qualifications or courses available for this - anyone can advertise as a Septic Tank Surveyor - but FETAC is a European Qualification, ensuring that the survey is undertaken by a trained and qualified Site Assessor.

Anyone buying a house with a septic tank or sewage treatment plant should consider having a Wastewater Assessment, as it costs thousands to replace a system that does not conform to the new Environment Agency General Binding Rules - IF it can even be done on that site!

Septic Tank Survey and Report Options include:

  • Inspection of the Septic Tank
  • Inspection of the drains leading to the Septic Tank
  • Inspection of the drains coming out of the Septic Tank
  • Determining the Point of Discharge
  • Assessing the Roof Water Drainage as it must NOT enter the Septic Tank
  • Determining whether the Septic Tank System conforms to the Environment Agency General Binding Rules
  • Determining and planning an alternative sewage system if the Septic Tank and Discharge Point does not comply with the General Binding Rules.
